Google has abruptly removed its artificial intelligence image generation tool from Google Earth just one day after rolling out the feature, according to reports from Unite.AI and Inspenet.

The integration, which leveraged satellite content to allow users to generate customized images based on the real world, was pulled from the platform following its initial deployment.

The Short-Lived Run of ‘Nano Banana’

The newly introduced feature, referred to in reports by Infobae as Nano Banana, was designed to let users produce custom visual content tied to real-world geography using satellite data.

However, according to Unite.AI, the corporation reversed course and deactivated the tool swiftly after its debut.

Historical Layers Intact Despite Visual Retraction

Prior to the tool’s removal, the latest Google Earth updates had expanded user capabilities to travel backward in time and interact with enhanced mapping interfaces driven by artificial intelligence, as detailed by El Español.

While these analytical and historical layers remain part of the platform’s broader evolution, the specific AI image generation capability has been halted.
