Ronald McDonald House Charities Italia Raises €333,000 to Support Families wiht Hospitalized Children
Cervia, Italy – September 26, 2024 – The Fondazione for Childhood Ronald McDonald Italia Ets successfully concluded its fourteenth annual Golf Tournament and Charity Dinner in Cervia, Emilia-Romagna, raising a significant €333,000 through direct donations to support families with children receiving medical care.The event, held at the Adriatic Golf Club and Darsena del Sale, featured a beneficial auction with valuable prizes and exclusive experiences, and enjoyed the patronage of the Municipality of Cervia and the Emilia-Romagna region.
The funds raised will directly benefit the Foundation’s eight active projects across Italy, as well as future program expansions. Ronald McDonald House Charities Italia provides free hospitality,services,and welcoming environments for families whose children are hospitalized far from home. This support is delivered through “Case Ronald” (Ronald McDonald Houses) and family rooms located within or near major hospitals nationwide.
The Foundation operates under the “Family Centers Care” assistance model, recognizing that keeping families close to their children during illness is integral to the healing process. In Emilia-Romagna, the Foundation currently supports families through a Family Room and a House Ronald mcdonald, both located within the IRCCS Hospital-University of Bologna Polyclinic of Sant’orsola. Thes facilities provided support to 187 families in 2024 alone.
The event drew notable attendees including cervia Deputy Mayor Gianni Grandu,Councilor for Public Works Mirko Boschetti,actress and event host Laura Locatelli,and Italian actor and musician Neri Marcorè,who performed for the audience. Artists Rizek and Federico Cecchin also contributed by donating works for the auction.
