Golf Equipment Demand Surges as Young ⁤Men Drive Unprecedented Sales

OSLO,Norway – A boom in golf’s popularity, fueled by a surge in young male players,is stripping shelves bare of⁣ golf equipment ⁣across Norway.⁢ Demand for both new and used golf gear has exploded in recent months, leaving retailers scrambling to keep up and prompting warnings about the importance of proper ⁢equipment for beginners.

The dramatic increase‍ in interest comes as golf sheds its image as an exclusive sport, becoming increasingly accessible to a younger demographic.⁣ This trend is‍ impacting the market significantly, with both retailers and the used equipment marketplace experiencing substantial⁣ growth. The situation highlights a broader shift in recreational activities, particularly among young adults, and signals a ⁤potentially ‌sustained period of heightened demand for golf-related ⁢products.

Figures presented by Nettavisen reveal a roughly 30% increase in used golf equipment advertisements ⁢on Finn.no, jumping from 5,040 ‍in July 2024 to 6,532 in ⁢july 2025. Searches for “golf set” on the platform reached nearly 75,000 during July alone.

“You can⁢ fuck yourself out [of the game]. If you ⁢go with the wrong equipment as an amateur, you make things incredibly more difficult. It ⁢must be a wake-up call for many,” a source stated to Nettavisen.Finn.no data indicates the largest group applying for golf-related opportunities through NAV (the Norwegian Labor and⁤ Welfare Governance) are aged 19-25. Approximately 75% of searches are conducted by men, with 50% of searchers under the age of 35.

“It is indeed clear that golf is becoming increasingly popular,” Finn.no told Nettavisen. “When there are so many young ‍men standing for ⁤the searches on golf and golf equipment, it confirms the trend others also see. It is⁤ clear‌ that Golf has become public ownership.”
