Gold prices in Egypt Fall for Second Time Today
Cairo, Egypt - October 10, 2025 – The price of gold in Egypt experienced a second decline today, falling approximately 15 egyptian pounds during evening trading on Thursday, according to naguib Club, former Secretary General of the gold Division. This follows an earlier dip during midday trading, signaling continued downward pressure on gold values within the country.
The fluctuations impact both investors and consumers, particularly those considering purchases for personal use or as a store of value. Egypt’s gold market is sensitive to global price movements,as well as local economic conditions and currency exchange rates.Further declines could make gold more accessible to buyers, while sustained drops may affect the profitability of gold merchants.
As of this evening, prices per gram are as follows: 14 karat gold is at 3616 pounds, 18 karat gold is 4,650 pounds, 21 karat gold is 5425 pounds, and 24 karat gold is 6,200 pounds. The gold pound, equivalent to the value of gold within the pound, is currently trading at 43,400 pounds, though prices may vary slightly between vendors.
Gold bullion prices also reflect the downward trend: a 10-gram bar is approximately 62,000 pounds, a 50-gram bar is 310,000 pounds, and an ounce (31.1 grams) is valued at 192,820 pounds. Bullion pricing is persistent based on the 24-karat gold per gram rate and can also differ between merchants.
Globally, gold prices decreased by 0.53% to around $4,022 per ounce, according to the latest Bloomberg data. This global trend appears to be contributing to the price adjustments observed in the Egyptian market.
