BMI is set to honor T-Pain with its prestigious President’s Award and GloRilla with the BMI Impact Award at its upcoming R&B/Hip-Hop Awards ceremony. The event will also recognize the 35 most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs from BMI’s extensive catalog.
T-Pain, a Grammy-winning artist, producer, and songwriter, is being recognized for his notable career contributions.His catalog includes enduring hits such as “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’)”, “Bartender,” “I’m Sprung,” and “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper),” which have achieved widespread popularity across different generations and global audiences.This award places him in the company of previous President’s Award recipients like Benny Blanco, Luis Fonsi, Noel Gallagher, and Ellie Goulding. Beyond his musical achievements, T-Pain is also active as a Twitch streamer and leads several ventures, including nappy Boy Entertainment, Nappy Boy Automotive, Nappy Boy Gaming, and Nappy Boy Dranks, and serves as chief strategy officer for the Global Gaming League.
GloRilla will receive the BMI Impact award, acknowledging her significant breakthrough in the music industry. Sence her 2022 breakout single “FNF (Let’s Go),” she has released four songs that have charted in the Hot 100 top 30, including “Yeah Glo!,” “Whatchu Kno About Me,” “TGIF,” and “Wanna Be” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. GloRilla has earned two BMI Awards and multiple Grammy nominations,including for Best Rap Performance in 2022 and 2024. her recognition follows previous recipients of the BMI Impact Award such as Tito Double P, ice Spice, edgar Barrera, Arlo Parks, RAYE, P2J, and Tems.
During the ceremony, BMI will also announce its R&B/Hip-Hop Songwriter, Song, Producer, and Publisher of the Year, as well as the year’s Top Producers, celebrating the creators behind the past year’s most performed R&B/hip-hop tracks.
