Gernika-Lumo Launches Registration for 2025-2026 Sports Courses
Gernika-Lumo, Spain – september 22, 2025 – Residents of Gernika-Lumo can now register for a diverse range of sports courses too be held at the Santanape Sports Center during the 2025-2026 academic year. Registration opens today, September 15th, and closes on September 25th, offering opportunities in Judo, Karate, Pilates, Yoga, and Climbing.
The cityS Parks and Recreation Department is implementing a lottery system to manage anticipated high demand for the initial courses. The lottery will take place on September 26th at 10:00 am at the Santanape Sports Center, with results posted on the planning board by September 29th. This structured approach ensures fair access to popular programs, catering to a wide spectrum of interests and physical condition levels.
Beginning september 23rd, registration will also open for additional activities including Maintenance Gym, GAP, Biking, Functional Fitness, Send Age, Aquagym, and Body Training. Interested individuals can register for these courses in person at the sports center reception or via email at kirolak@gernika-lumo.eus.
The program aims to provide accessible fitness options for all ages and abilities, combining martial arts disciplines with wellness practices and varied training regimens.The Basque Government supports the initiative,underscoring the city’s commitment to community health and well-being.
