Georges-Alain Jones has revealed he earned over half a million euros following his appearance on the French reality TV show “Star Academy.” The singer detailed the significant income generated from magazine covers and royalties in a recent interview, offering a rare glimpse into the financial windfall experienced by contestants on the popular program.
The revelation comes as Jones prepares to release new music later this year, and provides context to his reflections on the show’s impact on his life. Beyond launching his career, “Star Academy” facilitated a lasting personal connection – he met the mother of his daughter, Chiara, born in 2004, who was a dancer with choreographer Kamel Ouali. But the financial benefits were equally transformative, allowing Jones to alleviate a arduous financial situation with his aunt.
According to Jones, he graced the cover of 38 magazines, earning 180,000 euros from those appearances alone. He also received important royalties, describing the total as “indecent.” Upon receiving a check totaling 380,000 euros, his aunt reportedly reacted with visible emotion. “In total, I won a little more than 500,000 euros,” Jones stated. Despite the considerable sum, the singer admits to having spent the entirety of his earnings.
