Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are the clear favorites as the PGA Tour’s Signature Event schedule continues this week with the 2026 Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California. Scheffler, currently ranked No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, holds +330 odds to win, according to Fanatics Sportsbook, while McIlroy, at No. 2, is listed at +1200.
The return to Riviera marks a significant moment for the tournament, which celebrates its 100th playing in 2026. The 2025 edition was held at Torrey Pines Golf Course due to the proximity of wildfires in the Los Angeles area, but the event is now back at its traditional home, hosted by Tiger Woods.
Scheffler’s consistent performance this season has solidified his position as the frontrunner. He recently finished fourth at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, extending his streak of top-10 finishes to 18 events. McIlroy, making his second start of the season, finished tied for 14th at Pebble Beach after firing a final-round 64.
Following the top two, Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele are tied at +2200. Matsuyama previously won the Genesis Invitational at Riviera in 2024. Tommy Fleetwood rounds out the top five at +2400.
The field at the 2026 Genesis Invitational includes 18 of the top 20 and 41 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. A 36-hole cut will be implemented, with the top 50 and ties, plus any player within 10 shots of the lead, advancing to the weekend rounds.
Sahith Theegala has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption by tournament host Tiger Woods, granting him a place in the field at Riviera.
Ludvig Åberg, the defending champion of the event – having won at Torrey Pines in 2025 – returns to compete, though he will not be defending his title on the same course. He is currently listed at +4500.
The tournament is the second Signature Event of the 2026 PGA TOUR season, featuring a limited field of 72 players who qualified through their FedExCup standings in 2025 or their performance in the Aon Swing 5 at the start of 2026.
