Seo Yu-jeong Opens Up About Single Motherhood, Financial Fraud, and Future Plans in Exclusive Interview
SEOUL – Actress Seo Yu-jeong discussed the challenges of raising her daughter as a single mother, a recent financial scam, and her evolving career aspirations in an exclusive interview with Newsis. The candid conversation revealed a resilient spirit and a renewed focus on authenticity.
seo Yu-jeong acknowledged the emotional toll of solo parenting, admitting to moments of frustration. “There are times when I get upset and angry as I am so exhausted from raising children alone. After that, I always apologize to my child.I say, ‘I did that because Mom was having a hard time, I’m sorry.’ Then my daughter hugs me with her fern-like hands and tells me, ‘It’s okay.’ Every time that happens, I feel more comforted and become stronger.”
The actress also addressed being defrauded of approximately 2 million won, an incident she previously revealed on her YouTube channel, framing the experience through the lens of her personality type. “Did I get scammed? It was about 2 million won, but I was upset. But I’m an ISFJ with extreme F (emotional type) tendencies. I think all scammers are T (heterosexual types).If I was an F, I would have returned it out of pity,” she joked. “I used to suffer, but now I brush it off, saying, ’If I don’t have the money, I’ll just pay it back when I earn it.'”
Seo Yu-jeong expressed openness to future relationships, stating, “Now, the people who are going to come in are coming in, and the people who are going to be leaving are being sent out. (opening arms) Come in, come in! It’s open. Haha.” She credited a shift in outlook for her positive outlook, declaring, “The time of pain, crying, and suffering is over.”
The actress highlighted the support she receives from entertainment industry colleagues, including Kim Ok-bin, Matsuda, and Heo Young-saeng, who have appeared on her YouTube channel despite its relatively small subscriber base of 2,000. “it’s not easy to appear on a channel with 2,000 subscribers. Everyone ran to me willingly and said, ‘I’ll help you.’ I don’t know about my husband’s fortune, but I think I’m born with good fortune,” she said.
Looking ahead, Seo Yu-jeong plans to resume her acting career while continuing to create content on YouTube. “I have to start acting again.
