Gene Simmons, 76, is recovering at home after being involved in a single-vehicle car crash in Malibu, California, on June 3, 2025.The incident occurred when Simmons’ SUV crossed several lanes of traffic before colliding with a parked car, according to authorities.
The rock icon, best known as the bassist and co-lead vocalist of the iconic band KISS, reportedly told law enforcement he had lost consciousness or fainted prior to the accident. The crash prompted a public response from Simmons, who assured fans he is “fully fine” and attributed the incident to his self-described poor driving skills. This incident highlights the potential health risks faced by touring musicians and the importance of medication management, particularly as performers age.
According to Sergeant Tweed of the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff’s Station, doctors recently adjusted Simmons’ medications and advised him to increase his water intake. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Simmons addressed the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday,writing,”I had a slight fender bender. it happens. especially to those of us were horrible drivers. and that’s me. All is well.”
