Gemini Music ID Fails: Funny Chat & Reactions

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

A social media post referencing an interaction with the Gemini artificial intelligence platform has sparked discussion online, with a user reporting the AI’s inability to identify a song playing in the background. The post, containing 26 votes and 11 comments, details an attempt to ask Gemini about the music it was “hearing,” but receiving only non-responsive answers.

The Gemini AI, developed by Google, is the third astrological sign in the zodiac, associated with twins and represented by the symbols Castor and Pollux, according to historical and astrological texts. In Greek mythology, these twins – known as the Dioscuri – have complex origins, with differing parentage. Zeus fathered Pollux, while Tyndareus fathered Castor. The twins are also linked to Babylonian astronomy, where they were known as Lugal-irra and Meslamta-ea, titles associated with the god Nergal.

Beyond its astrological and mythological connections, Gemini is characterized as a positive and mutable sign, ruled by Mercury. Astrologically, the sun transits the sign of Gemini between approximately May 20 and June 21. The twins are also recognized as patron gods of sailors, worshipped for protection at sea, and are central to the constellation Gemini.

The reported incident with the AI platform raises questions about the current capabilities of artificial intelligence in interpreting and responding to auditory information. While Gemini is capable of processing and generating text, its ability to identify music or understand its context remains unclear based on the user’s account. Apollo, the Greek god associated with Gemini, is himself a dualistic deity, linked to both music and prophecy, adding a layer of symbolic resonance to the reported interaction.
