Geisenberger Explores New Opportunities in German Tobogganing Beyond Her Active Career

New opportunity for Geisenberger

The six-time Olympic champion Natalie Geisenberger could stay in German tobogganing even after her active career ends. “The discussions with the association are only now beginning. “I have good know-how and a lot of experience in many areas – and both sides are interested in working together,” the 35-year-old told the Münchner Merkur/tz: “That’s a good basic requirement.”

Geisenberger announced the end of his career last Sunday, and national coach Norbert Loch subsequently spoke out in favor of another commitment. Geisenberger cannot currently imagine a possible job as a trainer. “Never say never, but I would more or less rule out coaches,” she said.

In general, she is very concerned about the future of the sport. Above all, the situation around the still-destroyed railway at Königssee means that it could be “very difficult with young people”. You also have to “keep the diversity of the sport in mind,” says Geisenberger: “If there are only two or three sports left, it will be boring.”
