Gee says he regrets selling stock early after following Kim Gura’s advice
Singer and broadcaster Gee (Kim Dong-hyun) admitted on an E채널 variety show that he sold a stock investment yielding up to a 300 percent return prematurely after he followed advice from his father, Kim Gura.
Gee Evaluates Father Financial Tips on Television Show
Appearing as a daily student on the sixth episode of the Tcast E채널 program “Suh In-young’s Trend Kkondae” broadcast on the 5th, Gee addressed the realities of money management and investment outcomes. Discussing his father’s track record for financial tips, Gee explained that while Kim Gura frequently recommends real estate and specific equities, the quality of information varies widely. Gee remarked that because his father is so active, he encounters mixed guidance, joking that the inconsistent results sometimes made him wonder if he had been picked up.
The conversation turned to specific market plays when Gee revealed a past transaction where he acquired shares trading at roughly 1.2 million KRW for just 60,000 KRW. Trusting his father’s judgment, he liquidated the position when the price reached 120,000 KRW, missing out on subsequent gains that ultimately fueled his later regret. MC Mimi Minwoo also noted that the majority of his portfolio remains in positive territory, whereas MC Suh In-young confessed to having zero experience with cryptocurrencies or stock trading.

Stakes shifted dramatically toward physical endurance when the show detailed content created by American YouTuber MrBeast, who deployed a fire survival challenge carrying a 700 million KRW cash prize. Another extreme outdoor format offered about 300 million KRW to participants who could endure the wilderness, with a strict rule permitting only family members to halt the challenge. When asked how he would handle a 10 billion KRW survival test, Gee quipped that his father would likely hit the quit button immediately if he watched the attempt, adding that he himself would wait until reaching the absolute threshold of death before stopping.
Closing out the program, Suh In-young reflected on the difficulty of accumulating wealth, stating that earning money proves consistently demanding. Gee echoed those sentiments by expressing gratitude for his working environment and emphasizing his intention to maintain steady savings and disciplined living habits moving forward.
