GEB publishes public offering notice for first commercial paper lot

GEB publishes public offering notice for first commercial paper lot

October 15, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Grupo Energía Bogotá (GEB) has published the public offering notice for the first lot of its first issuance of commercial paper, featuring an initial offered amount of $250.000 millones alongside an over-allotment option of $150.000 millones. According to la-republica.co, this offering forms part of the company’s broader internal public debt bond and commercial paper issuance and placement program.

While the initial lot totals $250.000 millones, the total amount for the first issuance reaches $400.000 millones and will be carried out across multiple lots and standardized commercial paper. The broader program maintains a global limit of up to $2,5 billones, leaving a remaining placement balance of $2,1 billones following the announcement of the current issuance.

Structure and Valuation of the Commercial Paper

The offering notice makes available 250.000 commercial papers, each carrying a nominal value of $1 millón, which collectively accounts for the initial $250.000 millones offered to the market. The documents released by GEB specify that los papeles comerciales estarán denominados en pesos y el valor nominal de cada uno será de $1 millón. En consecuencia, no podrán realizarse operaciones, en el mercado primario ni secundario, por montos inferiores a ese valor.

Targeted at general investors within the main market, the commercial papers are denominated entirely in pesos. The company stated that 100% of the funds raised through this placement will be dedicated directly to financing general corporate purposes.

GEB Will Invest Placement Funds in Low-Risk Mechanisms

GEB outlined that while awaiting the final materialization of their intended corporate uses, the financial resources generated from the placement may be temporarily invested. These temporary holdings will be placed into high-liquidity, low-risk financial mechanisms, all strictly governed by the internal policies and regulations of the company.
