Gatwick Airport Trains Disrupted: Delays & Cancellations

Rail services to and from Gatwick Airport are experiencing significant disruption Tuesday morning after a train struck an obstruction on the track near Salfords station in Surrey, according to rail operators.

Thameslink and Southern Rail first reported the incident around 06:00 GMT, stating that the obstruction halted services. Trains running to, from, or through Gatwick Airport are facing cancellations, delays of up to 40 minutes, and alterations to scheduled routes. Some services are being diverted to use alternative platforms.

Thameslink has suspended services between Three Bridges and Bedford, with Salfords and Earlswood stations currently not being served in the northbound direction. The suspension is expected to continue until further notice, impacting commuters and passengers traveling to the airport.
