Gasoline Price Update: Does it Rise or Fall on December 4?

by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Santiago, Chile – December 4, 2025 – Kerosene prices in Chile decreased this Thursday, December 4, while prices for gasoline, diesel, and vehicular LPG⁢ remained stable,‌ according to the National ‌petroleum Company (Enap)’s latest Weekly Fuel Price Report.

This week’s price adjustment impacts consumers reliant on ⁤kerosene for ⁢heating and other ⁤uses,offering a slight reprieve amidst‌ ongoing economic pressures. While gasoline prices hold steady, the three-week ‍price cycle for 93 ‌and 97 octane fuels means changes are‍ anticipated again on‌ Thursday, December 18.⁢ Enap emphasizes ⁣it does not ⁣regulate fuel prices, with distribution companies independently‍ setting final costs for consumers in Chile’s open market.

Hear’s a breakdown of the current fuel prices:

*⁢  93 octane gasoline: $0.0 per⁣ liter.
* ‌ 97 octane gasoline: $0.0 per⁣ liter.
* Kerosene (paraffin): -3.5$ ⁤per liter.
* Diesel: ⁣$0.0 per ‌liter.
* Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for vehicular use: $0.0 per liter.

Enap ‌clarified in its ⁣report that its role ⁤is ‌to market hydrocarbon derivatives to distribution companies, who⁢ then “autonomously set the final sales price⁤ to their clients.” The⁢ last price variation for 93 ⁢and 97 octane gasoline occurred on November 19.
