LSU’s Garrett nussmeier Maintains Top Spot in 2026 NFL Draft QB Rankings
LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier remains the top-rated prospect for the 2026 NFL Draft, according to recent evaluations of Week 4 performances. Nussmeier showcased his abilities against Oregon State, completing 21 of 31 passes (67.7%) for 305 yards and four touchdowns, while also adding 62 rushing yards on six carries.
Analysts noted Nussmeier initially struggled to find his rhythm against Oregon State’s defense but ultimately led the Ducks’ offense to success. His season-high 62 rushing yards highlighted an expanded skillset beyond his established deep-passing prowess, and his rapid release was consistently on display. The performance sets the stage for a crucial Week 5 matchup against Penn State, where Nussmeier will face a top College Football playoff contender. A strong showing on the road could significantly bolster his draft outlook.
Elsewhere, Arizona State’s Trenton Leavitt re-entered the rankings following a strong performance against Baylor, completing 22 of 32 passes (68.8%) for 221 yards and one touchdown, alongside 64 rushing yards and another score. While his completion percentage reached a season-high, analysts pointed out the favorable pocket protection leavitt received (six pressures on 36 dropbacks) as a contributing factor.Despite a slightly underthrown deep pass, Leavitt demonstrated potential with a go-ahead touchdown pass to Jordyn Tyson. He will face TCU in Week 5.
Other quarterbacks to watch include Jayden Maiava of USC and Carson Beck of Miami.
