Garmin shares climb 3% as investors react to new product launches
Garmin Shares Defy Market Slump
Garmin Ltd. shares climbed 3.0% to $274.85 in intraday trading, bucking a broader market retreat. While the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq all trended lower ahead of the September Consumer Price Index report, investors pushed Garmin’s valuation upward following a flurry of new product launches and aviation milestones. The broader market faced downward pressure with the S&P 500 falling 0.1%, the Dow Jones down 0.4%, and the Nasdaq declining 0.2% as investors maintained caution ahead of the September CPI release. As of October 13, 2026, the stock traded at $266.20 with a market capitalization of $51.45 billion and a dividend yield of 1.57%.
Luxury Wearables Target High-Margin Growth
The company is doubling down on its premium segment with the third-generation MARQ collection. This lineup of six luxury watches, starting at $2,500, features AMOLED displays and specialized navigation tools. Built from Grade-5 titanium and sapphire lenses, the collection includes models tailored for adventure, sports, aviation, tactical, diving, and golf. These devices include built-in speakers and microphones, inReach connectivity for calls and SOS, and offer up to 18 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.
Golf Technology Hits the Wrist
Garmin’s golf portfolio also saw an update with the Approach S72. Priced at approximately $800, the watch includes pre-loaded maps for over 43,000 golf courses. It is the first Garmin watch to integrate swing analysis metrics—such as hand speed and backswing length—directly from the wrist. The S72 also supports electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality and provides “PlaysLike Distance” data based on elevation and wind. While global sales opened on October 7, 2026, the device is scheduled for a retail launch in Vietnam on October 26, 2026, at a suggested price of VND 22,290,000.

Approach S72 Features Titanium Bezels and Biometric Tracking
The Approach S72 is available in 43 mm and 47 mm casing sizes, utilizing titanium bezels and sapphire crystal lenses for scratch resistance. The 43 mm model features a 1.3-inch AMOLED display and weighs 41 grams, while both sizes offer a ComfortFit fabric strap option. Beyond golf, the watch includes an LED flashlight, multi-band GPS, offline music storage, and Garmin Pay. Biometric tracking includes heart rate trends before and after shots, HRV status, blood oxygen levels, and sleep tracking. Battery life is rated at 10 days in smartwatch mode or 15 hours with active GPS. While the product is listed as “Coming Soon” on the Garmin Indonesia website, official pricing and release dates for the region remain unannounced.
Aviation Benchmarks
Beyond consumer electronics, the company hit a major aerospace milestone: the delivery of its 1,000th G1000 integrated flight deck retrofit for the King Air aircraft to the U.S. Army. Garmin also plans to certify Autothrottle and Autoland capabilities for eligible King Air aircraft by the end of this year.

All eyes are now on the company’s upcoming financial report. After a second quarter that delivered 11% revenue growth and a 35% surge in net income, Garmin is scheduled to report its Q3 2026 results on October 28.
