Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7: March Update Released – Version Numbers Included
Samsung has begun distributing a security update for several of its foldable devices, including the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. The update, which includes the March 2026 security patch, is currently rolling out to users in South Korea, with wider international availability expected in the coming days.
The March security patch addresses 65 distinct vulnerabilities, bolstering the security of the devices against emerging threats, according to Samsung and multiple reports. Affected models include the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (F956USQS3CZC1), Galaxy Z Flip 6 (F741USQS3CZC1), Galaxy Z Fold 7 (F966USQS8AZC3) and Galaxy Z Flip 7 (F766USQS8AZC3). Users can initiate the update process through the settings menu by navigating to Software update and selecting Download and install.
The rollout follows Samsung’s established pattern of prioritizing security updates for its flagship devices. The March patch was initially deployed to the Galaxy S26 series, followed by the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, before reaching the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. This tiered approach reflects Samsung’s strategic focus on protecting its most premium offerings.
While the current update primarily focuses on security enhancements, Samsung is also preparing to release One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Firmware files for the update have reportedly been spotted on Samsung’s servers, suggesting that a beta program for the new user interface may be launched soon. One UI 8.5 is expected to introduce a range of new features and improvements, including enhanced customization options, a redesigned interface for core applications, and improvements to Galaxy AI and Bixby.
