Singapore’s 60th Birthday: Tail-Wagging Celebrations Across the City

From Gourmet Meals to Sunset Cruises, Pets Join the National Day Festivities

As Singapore commemorates its 60th National Day, a special wave of celebrations extends to its beloved four-legged companions. From specially crafted culinary delights to unique excursions, “Singa-paw-reans” are set to enjoy a Diamond Jubilee filled with pampering and festivity.

Local Flavors for Furry Friends

Home-grown pet food maker PetCubes has unveiled a line of National Day specials inspired by Singapore’s iconic hawker culture. Their “Braised Duck Rice” for pets features duck meat, yam, and brown rice, seasoned with five-spice for added antioxidants and cognitive benefits.

To complete the feast, a “Kaya Toast Ice Cream” infused with pandan offers a delightful, healthy dessert. All PetCubes products are made with 100% human-grade ingredients and contain no preservatives.

The limited-edition SG60 Bundle, priced at $60, includes a variety of these specially made items. These promotions are available through the PetCubes online store and all Pet Lovers Centre outlets, with CDC vouchers accepted at select retailers.

Nostalgic Treats and Charitable Causes

Feed My Paws is bringing a taste of nostalgia with its freeze-dried “Nonya kueh” for pets, replicating popular local desserts. These vibrant treats are made with pork or chicken and are suitable for both cats and dogs.

Additionally, they offer “Milky Biscuits” inspired by the classic White Rabbit candy. These biscuits come in varieties suitable for different pets, including options for vegan-friendly diets.

Beyond treats, the animal welfare charity Causes For Animals (CAS) is running an SG60 fundraiser until August 11. Donations will directly support stray and abandoned animals, with contributions covering daily food and essential vaccinations. A $50 donation, for instance, can provide an animal with comprehensive preventive care, including deworming and tick fever prevention.

Every donation takes Causes For Animals a step closer to a Singapore where every dog and cat has a full belly, a clean bill of health and a shot at a forever home.
