Bulldogs Dominate San Jose State, Secure Fifth consecutive Bowl Berth with 41-14 Victory

FRESNO, Calif. -⁣ The Fresno State Bulldogs emphatically closed out their regular season with a commanding 41-14 win over⁣ rival San Jose State on ⁢Saturday, extending a historic run to a fifth consecutive bowl game – a feat not achieved as 2001-2005. The victory caps a ​successful season for the ‘Dogs and positions them to learn their postseason fate following next week’s conference championship games.

This marks a notable turning point for the program, signaling sustained success under current leadership and providing valuable⁤ exposure for the⁢ university and the Central Valley. The Bulldogs’ dominant performance against their long-time foe underscores their strength as a team and builds momentum‍ heading into the bowl season, where ⁣thay’ll aim ​to add to their legacy.

Fresno State’s offense showcased⁤ a powerful ground‍ game, rushing for a season-high 259 yards on 53 carries. Senior ⁢Elijah Gilliam led the charge with 92 yards and two ⁣touchdowns, while sophomore Brandon‌ Ramirez contributed 47 yards ⁤and ​a touchdown of his own. Thru the air, Josiah⁢ Freeman proved a key target, hauling in 76 yards, including‍ a 37-yard touchdown – his sixth of the season.

The Bulldogs’ special teams unit also ‌delivered, ​with Dylan‍ Lynch⁤ converting all four of⁤ his field goal attempts from 33,⁤ 34, and two from 41 yards.

Despite the strong showing, the game wasn’t without its blemishes. The Bulldogs suffered ​a fumble and an interception returned for a touchdown,‌ resulting in 11 turnovers on the season.

The team now awaits the proclamation ⁢of their bowl destination, expected at the conclusion of next week’s conference championship contests.
