Guandacol Residents Benefit from complete Free Health Day
Guandacol, [Province/Region] – Over 180 residents of Guandacol and neighboring communities received free medical attention during a recent health operation focused on preventative care and access to essential services. The initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of Health, the Cabinet Headquarters, and the Municipality of Felipe Varela, is part of a broader provincial health federalization policy championed by Governor ricardo Quintela.
The health day offered a range of services including gynecology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and general medical consultations. Specifically, 21 mammograms were performed, alongside 30 gynecological exams and Pap smears. Cardiology services attended to 20 patients, while 80 received ophthalmological evaluations. A zoonosis truck also provided 31 consultations, addressing animal health and related public health concerns – a service highly requested by the Guandacol community.
Marcia Ticac, Secretary of Health Promotion and Prevention, emphasized the proactive nature of the program. “These controls allow us to prevent female cancers, address visual health needs, and manage chronic diseases. The inclusion of the zoonosis team directly responds to a significant demand within guandacol for animal care and health monitoring.”
María Elena de la Vega, head of the IV Health Zone, underscored the strategic planning behind the operation.”This is a carefully planned effort where we identify the specific needs of each locality beforehand. Given the high prevalence of hypertension in this area, cardiological attention was prioritized. The immediate response from the community – people arrived early to access services – demonstrates the need and will contribute to improved health outcomes and timely referrals.”
The health day served residents of Guandacol, Santa Clara, San bernardo, and surrounding areas. this initiative builds on the recently presented Provincial Health Plan, unveiled at the District Hospital last week, which aims to strengthen chronic disease prevention and advance overall provincial health objectives.
