Engine Deficits and On-Track Realities

Vasseur noted that the power deficit costs the team roughly one position per lap, disrupting race strategy and neutralizing the gains made through strong qualifying pace.
Vasseur emphasized that the team’s presence on the front row in Azerbaijan exceeded initial expectations given the layout’s high demand for engine output. Yet, the anticipated vulnerability during the opening laps and safety car restarts materialized as predicted. Despite the competitive hurdles and championship drought stretching back to 2008, Vasseur reaffirmed his dedication to the campaign, noting that motorsport remains his life and primary business focus as the team fights through the remaining seven rounds of the calendar.
