Franjo von Allmen & Marco Odermatt Win – Skiing Results & Reactions

March 24, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

Franjo von Allmen emphasized the significance of his podium finish, stating to SRF, “This podium means a lot to me. During training, the spring snow didn’t suit me at all. I modified my settings and I’m glad it worked so well.” The Swiss skier’s success follows a period of strong performances by Swiss athletes in Super-G events.

Marco Odermatt, reflecting on his consistent performance, noted, “Each globe has its story. The one leading to this globe, with this regularity that allowed me to win by 200 points (191, to be precise), is truly something special.” Odermatt’s comments underscore his dominance in the discipline, having finished in the top 7 in Wengen for the 29th consecutive race, according to SRF.

The Swiss team demonstrated overall strength in the recent competition, with Alexis Monney securing 4th place, just 0.66 seconds behind the race leader, Paris. However, Monney’s performance represents a slight decline from his 3rd place ranking in the discipline during the 2024/25 season.

Von Allmen’s adjustment to his equipment proved crucial, overcoming initial difficulties with the spring snow conditions. He had previously expressed frustration with the Canadian Corner in Wengen on January 16, 2026, noting the need for patience and proper height to maintain speed, a lesson learned after a 16th-place finish in the second sector of that race.

Odermatt, whereas pleased with his solid race, acknowledged a slight delay in his approach during the Kernen-S section. Despite this, he remained optimistic, stating that a flawless run could have placed him on the podium. A video posted on TikTok by Swiss-Ski on January 17, 2026, highlighted the ongoing rivalry between Odermatt and von Allmen.

Following a course inspection in Garmisch on March 1, 2026, both Von Allmen and Odermatt assessed the conditions, as reported by SRF. The assessment came after a successful run of Swiss podium finishes in Super-G events since 2022, with at least one Swiss athlete consistently placing in the top three in Wengen.
