France U17 Women: Euro 2026 Group & Schedule | Finland, Spain, Poland Opponents
Belfast, Northern Ireland – France’s Under-17 women’s national football team will face Finland, Spain, and Poland in the first round of the group stage at the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in May, following a draw held Wednesday at the National Football Stadium in Belfast.
The draw comes five days after France secured their qualification for the tournament by winning their qualifying pool in the second round of the elimination stages. The competition, hosted by Northern Ireland, will run from May 4th to May 17th.
The eight qualifying teams were divided into two groups. France will compete in Group B alongside Finland, Spain, and Poland. Group A will consist of the tournament hosts, Northern Ireland, along with Norway, Germany, and England.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The tournament also serves as a qualifying event for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2026, which will be held in Morocco, with five berths available to the participating teams.
This will be France’s 12th appearance in the final phase of the U-17 Women’s European Championship. Les Bleuettes have previously won the competition once, in 2023, and have been runners-up on three occasions (2008, 2011, and 2012). They have reached the semi-final stage nine times, falling short in 2009, 2015, 2022, 2024, and 2025.
The Euro 2026 schedule is as follows: the first matchday will be held on May 4th and 5th, the second on May 7th and 8th, and the third on May 10th, and 11th. A play-off for World Cup qualification is scheduled for May 14th, followed by the semi-finals on May 14th at Belfast’s Clearer Twist National Stadium. The final match will take place on May 17th at the same venue. Matches will also be played at Corelaine (The Showgrounds) and Larne (Inver Park).
