France to Debut Green Kit vs Brazil in 2026 World Cup Qualifier

March 25, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

The French national football team will debut a new green jersey in their upcoming friendly match against Brazil on March 26, 2026, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

This marks the first time Les Bleus will sport the alternative kit, a decision made for the high-profile fixture against the Brazilian squad. The match is part of the “Road to 26” series, a set of international exhibitions leading up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The game is scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM local time, according to the French Football Federation. Gillette Stadium, with a capacity for approximately 65,878 spectators, will host the contest. Current odds, as listed by ESPN, favor France slightly, with a moneyline of +120 compared to Brazil’s +135.

France has a mixed recent record against Brazil, with their last encounter on March 26, 2015, resulting in a 3-1 defeat for the French side. Prior to that, Brazil secured a 3-0 victory on June 9, 2013. However, France did manage a 1-0 win on February 9, 2011. A notable historical result saw France defeat Brazil 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

The current roster for the French national team includes Maghnes Akliouche, Bradley Barcola, Rayan Cherki, Lucas Chevalier, Lucas Digne, Hugo Ekitiké, Malo Gusto, Lucas Hernandez, Théo Hernández, N’Golo Kanté, Ibrahima Konaté, Jules Koundé, Mike Maignan, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Christopher Nkunku, Michael Olise, William Saliba, Brice Samba, Florian Thauvin, Khéphren Thuram, Dayot Upamecano, and Warren Zaïre-Emery.

The match at Gillette Stadium is one of several events scheduled for the venue in the spring of 2026. Following the Brazil-France match on March 26th, Boston Legacy FC is slated to face Utah Royals on March 28th, and later, San Diego Wave on April 3rd, North Carolina Courage on April 29th, Denver Summit on May 3rd, and Orlando Pride on May 12th.

As of Wednesday, March 25, 2026, neither the French nor the Brazilian football federations have released official starting lineups or detailed tactical plans for the match.
