France’s national rugby team will debut a specially designed jersey against England on March 14th at the Stade de France, commemorating 120 years of competition between the two nations in what is known as “Le Crunch.” The kit, produced by Adidas, has already generated significant excitement among fans, with initial releases selling out rapidly.

The light blue jersey features a white collar and an embroidered gold cockerel – a national symbol of France – as a nod to the kit worn in the first ever France-England rugby match in 1906. Adidas has updated the classic design with modern technical materials, creating a full range of apparel that includes match jerseys, heritage jerseys, shorts, socks, and leisurewear.

A short film released alongside the jersey unveiling features prominent French players, highlighting the historic rivalry. Adidas France announced the release on social media February 28th, stating “120 years at the same table. On March 14, we’re back at it.”

The wider collection includes white match shorts and red playing socks for on-pitch use. Leisurewear options include a white anthem jacket with tricolour stripes, a knitted cardigan, white cargo trousers, and two t-shirts. Prices for the range begin at £38 for a t-shirt, with the cardigan retailing at £160.

Adidas’s partnership with France extends beyond this commemorative kit, as the sportswear giant recently became the official partner of the Ineos Grenadiers cycling team, according to reports.

The French team will be hoping to secure a Grand Slam victory against England although sporting the new jersey. The match is the final game of this year’s Six Nations tournament.
