Fresno, California – the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds have bolstered their roster with the addition of transfer guard Nick Davidson from Menlo College. Davidson,a native of New Zealand,brings a strong freshman campaign and a high academic standing to the team.

Davidson, standing at 6-foot-2, had a remarkable freshman year at Menlo College.His statistics speak volumes about his potential:

During a visit to the Special Events center, Davidson scored 16 points in the first half and finished the game with 24 points, showcasing his scoring ability.

I chose FPU as I love the team culture they built here, along with the ability to compete for a championship which is my ultimate goal. My relationship with Coach Haydock and the rest of the staff was great from the beginning, and this ensures me that I will be able to develop my game for the rest of my college and pro career.

His pre-existing relationship with current sunbird freshman Hugo Gonzalez and his impressive 3.8 GPA further highlight his fit within the program.

Head Coach C.J. Haydock is eager about Davidson’s addition to the team.

Nick is a motivated, high character competitor who we are so excited to add to our program. We think he’s on a clear trajectory to be an all-league player, and he joins our already talented and connected young core. His scoring, playmaking, and defensive presence will make a massive impact on winning from day one, and we love the competitive edge and mindset he brings to everything he does.

Haydock believes Davidson has the potential to become an all-league player and will significantly contribute to the team’s success.

Looking Ahead to the ’25 season

Davidson’s career with the Sunbirds will begin in the fall of 2025. He will be joining a team with 12 returning players, including their three leading scorers. This continuity, combined with Davidson’s skills, positions the Sunbirds for a strong season.

I am very excited to get to Fresno Pacific. There are manny things that I am looking forward to – building relationships with the whole squad and the community of Fresno, playing in the Special Events Center, and contributing to bringing home a championship for the Sunbirds.
