The FPF arbitration board, chaired by Luciano Gonçalves, released the list of referees and VAR for the new season.
Firstly confirmed the advanced information by Record In a timely manner, that Tiago Martins reached the age limit and would not be invited to prolong his referee career, but remains in VAR’s team of the new VARC1 category.
Helder Malheiro also reached 45, but was invited by the FPF to stay in the framework of 24 referees. Given the casualties of Tiago Martins and also of the dismissed Gonçalo Neves and Bruno Vieira, they are promoted to the main category of Portuguese arbitration (C1), Luís Filipe (AF Lisboa), Márcio Torres (Viana do Castelo) and Diogo Rosa (Beja).
Note for the curiosity of Luís Filipe, who was the best classified of the C2 class last season, gaining the right to climb the level, had been ‘repsched’ for this level last October, by the domino effect caused by the end of Nuno Almeida career.
Remember that the referee best classified last season was Luís Godinho.
