Faced with the diagnosis, Timpf underwent a double mastectomy in March 2025. She later told People that the decision was among the hardest of her life. “The first six weeks of my son’s life, I wasn’t sure exactly what my prognosis was,” she shared, noting that losing her breasts immediately after giving birth while facing questions about breastfeeding proved deeply heartbreaking. However, she emphasized that she chose the procedure over a much worse alternative.

Reconstruction and Public Advocacy

Rebuilding her life and health in the public eye, Timpf documented aspects of her recovery on social media, podcasts, and through her appearances on the Fox News program “Gutfeld!” Recognized by the New York Times as “the most-watched woman in late-night television,” she maintained that being candid about her trauma provided a sense of purpose, stating that if her openness made even one woman less embarrassed about a mastectomy, it counted as a win.

She discussed undergoing reconstructive surgery to replace tissue expanders with breast implants. By December, she shared on Instagram that her colleague Jennifer Griffin had accompanied her to get her first nipple tattoos. Looking ahead to her upcoming birthday, Timpf quipped to her husband on stage that he should skip traditional gifts and instead consider a vasectomy. “I’ve had enough surgery,” she told the audience. “It’s someone else’s f— turn.”
