Four Arrested After Street Fight and Police Ambush in Bridgeport
Two teenage boys and two adults face criminal charges following a daytime street fight on Bridgeport’s East Side on Friday that culminated in adults allegedly ambushing responding officers and a teenager throwing a basketball at a police cruiser, hudsonvalley.news12.com reported.
Police Intervene in Fight Between Two Teenagers
The incident unfolded at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Noble Avenue near Maple Street. News 12 cameras captured the unfolding confrontation as officers attempted to de-escalate a physical brawl between two teenagers aged 16 and 17. While officers tried to break up the fight, investigators stated that 38-year-old Juan Carlos-Torres and 22-year-old Lawrence Marrow rushed toward the officers from a nearby porch. Carlos-Torres allegedly threatened an officer during the confrontation. Simultaneously, police stated that the 17-year-old involved in the initial dispute threw a basketball directly at a police vehicle, causing damage to the car.
Four Individuals Face Charges Following Street Encounter
Authorities booked all four individuals on various criminal counts following the street encounter. Juan Carlos-Torres and Lawrence Marrow, both residents of Bridgeport, were each charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer or resisting arrest. Carlos-Torres received an additional charge of threatening. Court officials set Marrow’s bond at $500, while Carlos-Torres was held on a $5,000 bond. Regarding the juveniles involved, police stated that the 16-year-old was charged with assault and breach of peace. The 17-year-old faces charges of criminal mischief, breach of peace, and interfering with an officer or resisting arrest. Both teenagers were issued summonses and released directly to adults who were not involved in the incident.
