Filming for the third season of Apple TV+’s science fiction drama “Foundation” has been postponed, marking the second disruption to production following the hollywood strikes of 2023.
The delay comes just weeks before production was slated to commence. Cast and crew members, including lead actors Lee Pace and Jared Harris, were reportedly informed to return home while outstanding production issues are resolved. Sources suggest that a reduction in production budgets may be necessary before the series can resume filming.
Returning cast members for the upcoming season include Lou Llobel, Laura Birn, and Terrence Mann. Pilou Asbæk, known for his role in “Game of Thrones,” is set to join the cast as the villainous character The Mule, replacing mikael Persbrandt.
The series, created by David S. Goyer (co-writer of “The dark Knight” trilogy) and josh Friedman (writer for “Avatar: the Way of Water” and the upcoming Marvel film “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”), is based on Isaac Asimov‘s acclaimed book series.
