Forza Horizon 6, Screamer & Racing Game News – March Update

March 28, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Forza Horizon 6 is introducing “Horizon Rush” events, a new gameplay mode designed to address player engagement issues with the series’ Showcase events, according to a report published by IGN on March 26, 2026. The new event type features obstacle courses in varied locations within the game, aiming to provide a more replayable experience than previous one-time-use Showcases.

Forza Horizon developer Playground Games identified a pattern of limited replayability with Showcase events in Forza Horizon 5. Level design director Tom Dillow stated that players typically completed these events once and did not return, despite attempts to re-engage them through changes to time of day, weather, car selection, and music. “So we went back and looked at our telemetry…and we noticed, for the most part, our Showcases are one-and-done,” Dillow said, as reported by IGN.

Horizon Rush events are designed as timed runs across challenging obstacle courses. At launch, three Rush events will be available: one set in a dockyard, another on a ski slope, and a third at a spaceport, according to reporting from overtake.gg. These events will not replace traditional Showcases, but will instead utilize event capacity previously reserved for vehicle-versus-vehicle style events. Two traditional Showcases will likewise be included in the initial release, including a challenge pitting a Toyota GR GT against a giant robot.

The introduction of Horizon Rush comes as Playground Games also revealed the PC system requirements for Forza Horizon 6, which have been described as surprisingly low compared to recent game releases. This has sparked discussion among players, given the generally high graphical fidelity of the Forza Horizon series.

The news of Horizon Rush and system requirements follows a period of preview coverage of Forza Horizon 6. The game is set to release alongside Screamer, a new arcade racing title that has garnered positive attention for its unique style and gameplay, and Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, which recently entered Season 6 with a new update.

Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown’s Season 6 update, released this week, introduces six new cars, including the Alpine A110 R Ultime and Bentley Continental GTC Speed Edition 12, and 15 new detective-style missions. The update also includes visual improvements to the Hong Kong map and optimizations for PC and Xbox Series X. Studio KT Racing recently filed for bankruptcy alongside its parent company Nacon, raising questions about the future of the game.

Meanwhile, Project Motor Racing has received a substantial update to version 2.0, including a redesigned menu and improvements to performance and AI. However, the game continues to suffer from optimization issues, with players reporting performance problems even on high-end hardware. A new DLC pack, the Japanese GT500 Pack, is scheduled for release on March 31, adding nine new cars and the Okayama circuit.

Finally, Racing Master is scheduled to launch globally on May 8, and Horizon Chase and Horizon Chase Turbo will be removed from digital storefronts on June 1, prompting players to purchase the titles before they are delisted.
