Fortnite is once again available on the Google Play Store worldwide, Epic Games announced today. The return of the popular battle royale title to the Android platform is accompanied by a free cosmetic item for mobile players.

Players who log in to Fortnite on their mobile devices will receive the “Yeddy Outfit” at no cost, according to the announcement. The availability of the skin marks a celebratory gesture following a period of absence from the Google Play Store.

The re-introduction of Fortnite to Google Play also includes updates tailored for mobile users. The game’s “Festival Main Stage” now features a portrait mode designed to enhance the on-stage performance experience. The update incorporates haptic feedback, allowing players to feel the rhythm of the music by tapping directly on the note highway, according to Epic Games.

Fortnite’s removal from the Google Play Store in 2020 stemmed from a dispute over Epic Games’ direct payment system, which circumvented Google’s standard commission fees. The game was subsequently available for Android users through Epic’s own website, but its return to the Play Store signifies a resolution to the prior conflict. Details of the agreement between Epic Games and Google were not disclosed.

The return to the Google Play Store is expected to broaden Fortnite’s accessibility to Android users, simplifying the download and update process. The free Yeddy Outfit is available for a limited time, encouraging players to log in and claim the reward.
