Former La Parka Responds to WWE Using His Likeness for Worlds Collide

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

WWE used the image of the original ‍La Parka to promote an⁣ upcoming match at the Worlds Collide event, prompting a response from the wrestler himself, ‌who clarified he will⁢ not‍ be participating. The advertisement, which appeared⁣ during the september 5th edition of *SmackDown*, featured the likeness of⁢ the first man⁣ to wrestle as La Parka in an eight-man ⁣tag team match.

The original‍ La Parka,‌ whose real name is reportedly ⁢L.A. Park, addressed the confusion on social media, stating, “You‍ know how they always upload me to confuse people but it’s not me, well the one in the image is me but⁢ I’m not‌ going to go.” this clarifies that the wrestler⁢ appearing at worlds Collide⁣ is the *third* iteration of the character, not the original.

The history of the La Parka character is⁢ complex. ⁢The original wrestler competed for AAA and ⁣WCW‍ throughout the 1990s before a dispute with AAA led to a second performer taking on⁣ the⁢ mantle. That ‍second La‍ Parka wrestled until a severe⁢ injury ‍in ⁢2019,‌ and afterward passed ‍away ⁣several ‌months later.

WWE x⁢ AAA Worlds Collide will be held at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas,Nevada on Friday,September 12.Source: F4WOnline
