Ford Championship: Hinako Shibuno Paired with Lilia Vu – Tee Times & Player Groups
A field of 15 Japanese golfers will compete at the Ford Championship, beginning Friday at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. The pairings for the tournament’s opening rounds were announced Monday, local time.
Hinako Shibuno, 19, recently added to the field after qualifying through the Monday qualifier, will play alongside Lilia Vu of the United States, a two-time major champion, and Frida Kinhult of Sweden. Shibuno won the Chevron Championship and AIG Women’s Open in 2023, bringing her career total to five victories.
Miho Yamashita is grouped with Angel Yin of the United States and Carlota Ciganda of Spain, and will tee off later in the day. Emi Hirako will play alongside Carolina Lopez-Chacarra of Spain and Carolina Melgrati of Italy.
Nasa Hataoka and Ayaka Furue will play in the same group, as will Mao Saigo and Reona Takeuchi. Other Japanese players entered in the tournament include Minami Katsu, Yuka Yoshida, Yuina Nishimura, Saki Sasabe, Haruka Maeba, Akari Iwai, Chihiro Iwai, and Kokoro Sakurai.
