Foot Locker GDPR Redirect: US Sites Unavailable in Europe
Foot Locker customers in Europe attempting to access the company’s U.S.-based websites are being automatically redirected to Foot Locker’s European site, footlocker.eu, due to the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The redirection began recently, and the company anticipates restoring access to its U.S. Sites for European customers in the near future.
The change, noted on Foot Locker’s European website, affects access to sites including Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Footaction, Final-Score, Champs Sports, Eastbay, Greenhouse, and FLX. Foot Locker, Inc. Confirmed the shift is a direct response to the GDPR, a regulation designed to protect the personal data of individuals within the European Union.
According to Foot Locker’s Privacy Statement, the company and its affiliates—including Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and FLX—prioritize protecting customer information. The statement, updated in March 2025, details how Foot Locker collects, uses, and discloses personal information, and outlines customer options regarding these practices. Customers with questions are directed to [email protected].
Foot Locker, Inc. Also adheres to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The company has certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it adheres to the EU-U.S. DPF Principles with regard to the processing of personal data received from the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. In the event of conflict between this policy and the DPF Principles, the Principles will govern.
The company’s Data Privacy Framework Policy specifically addresses the treatment of personal data belonging to associates, customers, suppliers, and business partners, emphasizing the confidential treatment of such information. The policy applies to data collected through websites, mobile applications, stores, social media, events, promotions, and other technologies.
Foot Locker’s Privacy Statement and Terms of Use are accessible through the company’s help center, and the company’s corporate address and contact information are publicly available. As of today, the U.S. Sites remain inaccessible from Europe, with Foot Locker directing customers to utilize the European sites during the transition.
