Paula Deen‘s Culinary Comeback Continues with New Streaming Series

Paula Deen, the celebrated Southern chef whose career was significantly impacted by a 2013 controversy, is making a notable return to television with a new streaming series. This move marks a meaningful chapter in her ongoing efforts to reconnect with her audience and rebuild her media presence.

Deen, who first gained national recognition when food Network launched her show Paula’s Home Cooking in 2002, filmed over 200 episodes of the program from her home kitchen in Savannah, Georgia. The show ran for a decade, cementing her status as a television personality. Her restaurant in Savannah also relocated to a larger venue the year after the show’s debut.

The Food Network terminated Deen’s contract in 2013 following public backlash stemming from a lawsuit filed by a former employee. During a legal deposition, Deen’s responses to questions regarding racial slurs, including her admission to having used the N-word in the past, became public and led to widespread criticism.

As the controversy,Deen has appeared on various platforms, including ABC’s Dancing With the Stars and Gordon Ramsay’s Fox competition series Masterchef: Legends. She also launched her own streaming show, At Home With Paula Deen, on Fox Nation in 2020. Additionally, Deen maintains an active presence on YouTube, where her cooking videos have garnered a substantial following of over 520,000 subscribers.
