Asheville parks & Recreation Centers Now Accepting Food Donations Amidst SNAP Benefit Lapses
Asheville residents impacted by recent disruptions to SNAP benefits can find support through a network of food donation drop-off locations established at several Asheville Parks & Recreation community centers. The City of Asheville is partnering with local food pantries and distribution agencies to collect non-perishable food items for those in need.
The temporary lapse in SNAP benefits has increased demand on local food resources. Donations collected at these sites will directly benefit individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in the Asheville area. City drop-off locations will be closed tuesday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Residents seeking food assistance can find a list of distribution sites on the Manna Food Bank Food Resource Map: https://mannafoodbank.org/wnc-free-food-distributions/.
