Fmkorea Security Verification & Connection Guide
South Korean internet users are experiencing disruptions with gesture controls on Google Pixel phones while using the FMKorea app, a popular online forum. Reports surfaced on March 6, 2026, within the FMKorea app itself, detailing issues with swipe gestures, specifically the back swipe, failing to register on Pixel devices.
According to a post within the app, the problem stems not from a bug within FMKorea, but from a conflict with the default gesture settings on Pixel phones. Pixel devices have a default back swipe gesture enabled, which may be overriding the app’s gesture recognition. FMKorea developers suggested users either switch to three-button navigation or adjust the sensitivity of the back swipe gesture within the phone’s settings (Settings > System > Navigation).
FMKorea, identified as the largest humor, soccer, and internet broadcasting forum in Korea, has over 100,000 downloads on the Google Play Store. The app is described as focused on performance and simplicity. The forum covers a broad range of topics and, according to a December 4, 2025, Facebook post, has seen content originating on the platform go viral within Korea, including comments from Jimin of the K-pop group BTS.
The FM Resilience Index 2025, published on June 18, 2025, ranked South Korea 34th in overall resilience. The index, developed by FM (Financial Markets), assesses a country’s ability to recover from disruptive events. The report highlights South Korea’s rapid modernization, technological advancement, and economic transformation, noting its transition from a recipient of foreign aid to a member of the OECD Development Assistance Committee. Despite these strengths, the report also identifies significant exposure to climate change risks, estimating a potential 3.73% GDP loss by 2050 due to rising sea levels and extreme weather.
FM Korea has also been referenced in academic research examining socio-political trends within the country. A study published October 31, 2024, in the Journal of East Asian Studies, explored the role of misogyny in the 2022 Korean presidential election, referencing FM Korea alongside “New Men on Solidarity” as platforms where related discussions occurred. The study examined the backlash against feminism in South Korean politics.
As of March 24, 2026, neither Google nor FMKorea have issued official statements regarding a broader fix for the gesture conflict. The FMKorea app remains available for download on the Google Play Store.
