Florida Gymnastics: Heads to Tempe for 2026 NCAA Regionals | Schedule & Tickets
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators gymnastics team is heading to Tempe, Arizona, for the NCAA Regional Championships, as announced by the NCAA Gymnastics Committee on Tuesday. Florida secured the No. 3 overall seed in the 2026 championships.
Competition for the Gators will begin on April 2 during the evening session of the Tempe Regional. This marks the sixth consecutive year the NCAA has utilized the current regional format, which involves nine teams competing at four regional sites. The format includes a First Round to narrow the field, followed by Second Round and Final competitions to determine which teams advance to the NCAA Championships, scheduled for April 16-18 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Florida is familiar with NCAA Regional competition, having participated in every championship since its inception in 1982. This year’s appearance in Arizona represents the second time the Gators will compete in the state, following a previous regional in Tucson in 2004. The team has a strong history in regional competition, having won 22 NCAA Regional Championships, including as recently as 2025.
The field for the NCAA Tempe Gymnastics Regional includes No. 6 Georgia, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 14 California, No. 20 Penn State, No. 24 BYU, No. 28 Southern Utah, No. 32 Arizona State and No. 33 Arizona. Competition will begin on April 1 with the first session, featuring Georgia, Michigan State, BYU, and Southern Utah starting on vault, bars, beam, and floor respectively. Florida will compete in the second session on April 1, beginning on vault, followed by California on bars, and Arizona State/Arizona on beam, with Penn State starting on floor.
The NCAA has maintained the seeding determined at the time of regional selections throughout the championships for the 12th consecutive season. Standard bracketing procedures will be followed, dividing teams into two sides of the bracket based on their seed. All four NCAA regional second round and final competitions will be available live on ESPN+, offering coverage of every gymnast, and apparatus. The staggered start dates for the regional sites – Tempe and Baton Rouge beginning on April 1, and Lexington and Corvallis on April 2 – are intended to allow fans to watch all the action without having to choose between multiple streams.
Tickets for the NCAA Tempe Regional are currently on sale, with adult single-session tickets priced at $25.00, and youth/student and senior/junior tickets available for $10.00. All-session passes are available for $65.00. The Gators have advanced to the NCAA Championships 41 times, missing only the 2000 and 2019 events.
