Raytheon is currently seeking a dedicated Firefighter/EMT to join its operations team in Middletown, Connecticut. This is a first-shift, onsite position responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel and facilities.

Job Overview

The Firefighter/EMT will provide emergency medical services, fire suppression, and prevention services. This role requires a proactive individual capable of responding effectively to a variety of incidents. The position is critical to maintaining a safe working surroundings at Raytheon’s Middletown location.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and medical emergencies, providing immediate care and assistance.
• Perform fire suppression activities, including operating firefighting equipment and utilizing appropriate techniques.
• Provide emergency medical treatment within the scope of EMT certification, including assessment, stabilization, and transport assistance.
• Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Participate in training exercises and drills to maintain proficiency in firefighting and emergency medical skills.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and training activities.
• Collaborate with local emergency services as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid EMT certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience as a Firefighter/EMT is highly desirable.
• Current CPR/AED certification is essential.
• Strong dialogue and interpersonal skills.
• ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting, carrying, and operating equipment.
