North Melbourne’s Finnbar‍ Maley Traded ⁣to Adelaide Crows

Adelaide, ​Australia – North Melbourne forward Finnbar Maley ‍is heading to the Adelaide ​Crows in a ‌deadline-day trade,‍ the clubs confirmed today, October 23, 2025. The 22-year-old was exchanged ⁤along with pick No.64 ‌for pick No.57 and⁣ a fourth-round ⁤selection in the 2026 AFL Draft.

The move sees Maley, a promising key forward, join a Crows outfit looking to bolster its attacking options. For North Melbourne, the trade allows them⁤ to acquire additional ‌draft capital ​as‍ they continue ‌to rebuild. Maley’s departure marks a ⁤shift in the Roos’ forward line ⁣and provides the Crows with a developing tall target, possibly impacting both teams’ strategies in the upcoming season.

Maley arrived at North Melbourne via pick No.2 in the⁢ 2023⁣ Rookie Draft and ⁢quickly made an impact, playing seven games in ⁣the 2025 season and kicking four goals, including a memorable goal with his ⁢first kick in the AFL.

“We wish Finnbar all the best ⁢as he embarks on the next phase ⁢of his ​career,” north Melbourne’s footy‌ boss Todd Viney said. “Finnbar has made⁣ a good ⁢impact at the club over ‍the⁤ past couple of years, especially with his enthusiasm and commitment to ⁣developing his game.”

Adelaide list boss Justin Reid expressed the Crows’ excitement about securing Maley’s​ services. “With ​Finnbar we were really pleased to get ⁢a deal across‍ the line, given what we’ve seen from him,” Reid stated. “With plenty of height and a strong set of hands, he’ll be a valuable addition​ to our squad. Maley is the son of former Adelaide⁢ 36ers and NBL legend Paul Maley.
