Paris – Arnaud, the former partner of Filip Nikolic, leader of the Belgian pop group 2be3, has spoken publicly for the first time to address what he calls “fictions” surrounding Nikolic’s life following the singer’s recent passing. In an interview, Arnaud revealed they shared a romantic relationship lasting eight years.
arnaud described a deep connection with Nikolic, characterizing it as a “platonic love, a bromance.” The two were frequently together, eventually living together before a year-long separation during which Nikolic became a father. They later reunited in secrecy.
“He always said to me: ‘Arnaud, I cannot say it. I am serbian. To say that we are together, it is indeed as if I said that the rain comes out of the ground,'” Arnaud recalled.
He painted a picture of Nikolic as a vibrant, if sometimes extravagant, personality. “He had a crazy appetite, an appetite in every sense of the word. In the boxes, in restaurants, he gave his phone number to everyone. Everything he was doing was excess,” Arnaud said. “But I was the only one in his life.”
Arnaud, now a restaurant manager in Paris, stated his motivation for speaking out was to defend Nikolic’s memory adn highlight his strength and desire for healing. “As the last companion,I do not accept that things that are not true are told,it is indeed my only engine,” he explained. “I was present to support him during these years and I refuse to hide his will to heal and the strength he showed. Our story lasted eight years and I could see his strength, his sensitivity and his commitment in everything he undertakes.”
