Fiji Wins Miss Pacific Island 2026: Ailava Samuel Crowned!

Ailava Samuel of Fiji was crowned Miss Pacific Islands 2026 Saturday at the Sofitel Resort in Denarau, Fiji, marking the fourth time a Fijian contestant has claimed the title, following Anne Dunn’s win in 2016. The 19-year-aged Samuel also received the Best in Interview award during the regional pageant, besting representatives from six other Pacific Island nations.

Samuel acknowledged the support of her family and team in her victory speech, dedicating the win to the entire country of Fiji. The crowning was performed by the 2025 Miss Pacific Islands, Litara Ieremia-Allan of Samoa, according to reports from FBC News and Samoa Global News.

Iampela Popena of Papua New Guinea was named the first runner-up and also received awards for Best Traditional Wear and Miss Internet. The second runner-up was Iliganoa Feagaimali’i Soti of Samoa. Tonga’s Siosi’ana Patricia Taumoepeau secured the third runner-up position, along with the Best Sarong and Miss Tourism awards. Petra Mataiti of the Cook Islands was awarded fourth runner-up, and also took home the prizes for Best Talent and Miss Photogenic. Kiribati’s Atiterentaai Rinimarawa was recognized with the Miss Personality award.

The pageant, held in Nadi, Fiji, saw contestants compete for the prestigious title, with Samuel emerging as the victor after a week of competition, according to ABC Pacific.
