Derksen ‌and Van der Gijp Criticize Van Persie’s Lineup ‍Choices Following Feyenoord‘s Loss to Braga

Feyenoord coach Robin ⁣van‌ Persie is facing criticism from analysts Johan Derksen‍ and ⁣René van der Gijp following the team’s 0-1 defeat ⁣against SC ⁤Braga in portugal on Wednesday evening. The pair questioned Van Persie’s decision to make significant changes to the starting lineup.

“You shouldn’t do that dude, those‌ guys you let play now are not taken seriously in the⁣ dressing room. It is a bit naive ‌to think then we let them play and then⁣ they should show what they can do,‌ that will not work,” Van der Gijp said during Vandaag Inside.

Derksen added, “René, don’t⁢ you think that Van ⁤Persie‌ is doing something stupid for the umpteenth time?⁢ At Heerenveen he also influenced duels with that goalkeeper change in cup matches. Feyenoord had won that jar yesterday.” Van der Gijp concurred, stating, “this is just three points, where does this make sense?”

The discussion ⁢also ⁢touched upon post-match comments made by Feyenoord captain Sem‌ Steijn, who described‌ the team as ‘selfish,’ ⁢a remark that reportedly upset Van Persie. Derksen noted Van Persie’s reaction, while Van der Gijp suggested‌ Steijn ‍lacked the authority to directly challenge the coach, ⁣saying, “Steijn also⁤ does ‌not have the ability to say to such a ‍Van Persie, ‘Joh, you shouldn’t do this.'”
