New Support Group Launches at Marikenhuis for Those Facing Incurable Cancer
The Marikenhuis, a vital center for individuals impacted by cancer, is introducing a new support group aimed at those navigating life when a cure is no longer possible. The group, titled “Living as Cancer Can No Longer Be Cured, and Then…?”,offers a space for shared experiences and mutual recognition.
receiving a cancer diagnosis is profoundly challenging. However, hearing that treatment options are tired and a cure is unattainable can shatter one’s world. If you are grappling with such news and seeking support from others in similar circumstances, this fellow sufferer group could provide essential comfort and understanding.
The group will convene for six sessions, meeting every two weeks on Monday mornings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.The inaugural meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 11. All meetings will take place at the Marikenhuis, located at Slotemaker De Bruïneweg 163 in Nijmegen.A personal contribution of €2.50 per meeting is requested.
The Marikenhuis also offers specialized support groups for individuals with breast cancer, prostate cancer, those experiencing persistent complaints, loved ones, relatives, and a general group. Interested individuals are encouraged to register, and the center will reach out to arrange an introductory meeting.
