FCCP Chief Justice Orders Faster Case Disposal and Meets Bar Delegations
Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan of the Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan (FCCP) has directed all court benches to adopt effective case management practices to accelerate the disposal of cases and reduce the institutional backlog.
The directive comes as part of a broader effort to improve the court’s operational efficiency and ensure the timely delivery of justice. The Chief Justice emphasized that prompt adjudication is essential to maintaining public confidence in the judicial system.
Reserved Verdict Delays
In a separate move to address judicial bottlenecks, the Federal Constitutional Court has flagged and censured delays in the announcement of reserved verdicts. The court highlighted the demand for decisions to be released in a timely manner to avoid prolonged legal uncertainty for litigants.
Engagement with Islamabad Bar Council
Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan also met with a delegation from the Islamabad Bar Council. The meeting served as a forum for the Chief Justice and legal representatives to discuss matters pertaining to the court’s functioning and the administration of justice.
Institutional Reform and Staff Training
These judicial directives followed a full court meeting held on April 28, 2026, chaired by the Chief Justice and attended by all judges of the court and Registrar Mohamed Hafeezullah Khan. The meeting focused on administrative measures intended to enhance institutional performance.
During the session, the Chief Justice reviewed ongoing capacity-building initiatives, specifically praising in-house training programs designed for ministerial staff within the BS 8–16 brackets. These modules focus on information technology, workplace discipline, and office ethics, which the Chief Justice identified as essential components for building a modern institutional framework.
The court has pledged to uphold the rule of law through continuous professional development and a commitment to transparency and accountability in its administrative and judicial processes.
