Fayette County Child Abuse: New Charges Filed After Sibling Found Abused

Following the ⁣examination into the death of Renesmay Eutsey, authorities anticipate further charges against Kourtney⁣ Eutsey and Sarah Shipley, ⁤the court-ordered custodian and live-in caretaker of the ‌Fayette County girl. District Attorney Mike Aubele stated that a sibling‌ of Renesmay ‍has been⁢ hospitalized due to ⁢severe ‍abuse and neglect.

During the⁢ initial investigation ⁤into Renesmay’s disappearance and⁤ subsequent death,‍ four additional⁤ children were removed ​from the home in‍ Dunbar.⁣ Medical evaluations ⁣obtained by Children and Youth ‌Services (CYS) from Children’s Hospital revealed the ⁣6-year-old sibling had been subjected to severe abuse and ‌neglect, with ⁢reports indicating a ​body mass index ⁣of zero.

Aubele confirmed Sunday that his office is‌ preparing ​additional charges against Eutsey and Shipley. As of⁢ the latest⁤ update, the hospitalized child‍ is currently ‍stable.The remaining ⁤children removed from the home have been placed ‍in foster care outside of Fayette County, according to‍ Aubele.
