sibling Hospitalized, Additional Charges Expected in Renesmay Eutsey Case
Following the examination into the death of Renesmay Eutsey, authorities anticipate further charges against Kourtney Eutsey and Sarah Shipley, the court-ordered custodian and live-in caretaker of the Fayette County girl. District Attorney Mike Aubele stated that a sibling of Renesmay has been hospitalized due to severe abuse and neglect.
During the initial investigation into Renesmay’s disappearance and subsequent death, four additional children were removed from the home in Dunbar. Medical evaluations obtained by Children and Youth Services (CYS) from Children’s Hospital revealed the 6-year-old sibling had been subjected to severe abuse and neglect, with reports indicating a body mass index of zero.
Aubele confirmed Sunday that his office is preparing additional charges against Eutsey and Shipley. As of the latest update, the hospitalized child is currently stable. The remaining children removed from the home have been placed in foster care outside of Fayette County, according to Aubele.
