São Paulo’s Faria Lima Avenue Breaks into Top 30 Most Expensive Streets in the americas
SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – Avenida Faria Lima in São Paulo has entered the ranking of the 30 most expensive streets in the Americas for the first time, according to Cushman & Wakefield’s annual “Main Streets Across the World” study. Rent in the financial district surged approximately 43% between 2024 and 2025, marking the second-largest increase among streets included in the report.
Currently, rent on Faria Lima, which holds the 25th position in the Americas ranking, is valued at 920 euros per square meter – equivalent to more than R$5.7 million.
Dennys Andrade, Director of Market Research at cushman & Wakefield in Brazil, noted the significance of Faria Lima’s inclusion, stating, “It does not have a commercial vocation on the streets traditionally mapped by the study, but rather an axis of vrey high standard corporate buildings.” he explained that the avenue’s rise reflects “the accelerated recognition of the region, whose asking prices have been almost double the São Paulo average,” adding that demand from companies seeking a Faria Lima address is driving longer contracts and increased prices.
Other Brazilian streets appearing in the Americas ranking include oscar Freire in São Paulo, as well as Garcia D’Ávila and Visconde de Pirajá in Rio de Janeiro. Oscar Freire, a well-established luxury shopping destination, is even more expensive than Faria Lima and currently ranks 22nd in the Americas, with rent reaching 1,128 euros per square meter (over R$7 million) - a 65% increase year-over-year.
Globally, Oscar Freire remains the only Brazilian street featured, holding the 34th position for the most expensive square meter.
